What attracted you to your course at 91传媒?聽聽

I wanted a course that would test practical skills rather than being too academic. I researched聽universities in Scotland and wanted something focused on design. I discovered the Game Design聽course and found that computing courses are highly rated at 91传媒. I also already lived in Aberdeen,聽so it was a perfect match.

Before coming to 91传媒, what were your expectations? And now that you are here, have your experiences differed?聽聽

I didn鈥檛 have specific expectations about university, only that I wanted to learn about my subject. As聽a mature student, independence and real-life experience were already familiar to me. My experience聽has met my expectations, as I鈥檝e been able to learn multiple programs for coding, video games, and聽art that will help me when applying for jobs.

What's the best thing about being an 91传媒 student?聽聽

The best part is the practical education. Every lecture includes lab activities where you can test the聽skills shown during teaching. 91传媒鈥檚 practical approach means every lecture includes hands-on lab聽work, helping me build real skills for my future career. I鈥檝e also met many like-minded people and聽formed very strong friendships, which has made the experience even better.

What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen?

I鈥檝e lived in Aberdeen for over 10 years. I enjoy that it is a quieter city, but there are still lots of聽things to do in the city and surrounding areas. Everything is close by, and when the weather is good,聽it鈥檚 great to go for hikes in the nearby mountains, easily accessible by car or bus. I鈥檝e always loved聽having nature close to where I live.

What would you say to someone considering studying at 91传媒?

If you want to focus more on practical skills over purely academic learning, 91传媒 is a perfect choice. I聽used to think university was only about reading large amounts of material and writing essays, which聽put me off for years. However, I鈥檓 very happy in my degree, as most modules are based on聽coursework that allows you to demonstrate your skills.
